Craft Sale Organizers

Craft Sale Organizers:

Craft Sales are organized and run by all sorts of organizations. It could be a church, school, community group, or a private party.

It is usually the responsibility of the organization hosting the craft sale to provide the location and tables for displaying your crafts. If you have special needs, such as lighting or other power requirements, be sure to check with the organizers to see what is available.

The organizer is also responsible for advertising the sale. This can be done in newspapers, on web sites, with handouts, community announcements on television, etc. It is fair to ask the organizer what type of promotion they are providing for you before you book your table(s).

The organizer will charge you a fee per table or for a certain space. There is often a short written agreement, and you may be required to pay for your table in advance. Ask about a refund policy - frequently you can receive a refund if you cancel two weeks or more before the show. Cancel later than that, and you may not get a refund, even if the promoter re-sells your table.

Some other things to consider are whether there are people selling similar items at the sale. If so, ask for a location as far away from the other person as possible. Usually the organizers will try to limit the number of vendors selling the same item to one or two.

Remember to work with the organizers. Don't be pushy or rude with them or you may find your table is not available next time. On the day of the sale they will be very busy - so if you have a request be sure to make it in advance of the show. They will be more receptive to a request when they are not so busy.
